Post diagnostic support for children with autism is well-known to be difficult to obtain. Not only that, but it is not always at all helpful. Aspiedent have a solution: Autism profiling. There are many underlying reasons why a child may struggle with any one autism symptom. This blog post discusses helping autistic children by figuring out and targeting their underlying autism issues. These underlying issues cause their autism symptoms, so doing it this way means that the child can become best equipped to reach their potential.

Keeping the conversation and neurodiversity in the workplace as realistic as possible is important. Not everyone with autism and neurodiversity will suddenly bring innovation, superpowers, or an unstoppable work ethic into a company. Whilst there are certainly benefits to have a neurodiverse workforce, in order for it to be successful we need to take of our rose-tinted glasses or we risk setting false expectations of people and excluding the very people we are trying to include.

Although there is always space for Activism, Aspiedent try to stay away from political ideologies in relation to autism. Identity politics in particular is sometimes referred to regarding autism and the experience of being autistic. This blog post highlights some of the reasons why we do not believe autism & identity politics mix well and vents some frustrations about the topics of identity and discrimination.

Aspiedent expects the autistic adults we support into employment to do things they find uncomfortable. This post touches on how and why this is important and gives examples. For anybody to meet their potential, they must be prepared to be challenged, endure difficult experiences and accept the things they can’t change. How to support mental health at work is a hot topic at the moment. We argue that challenging people can be good for their mental health in the long term.

This blog post is for good leaders who are passionate about neurodiversity inclusion in the workplace and need a bit of guidance as to where to start. It includes encouragement and some (hopefully) helpful & wise words regarding some of the issues you may face pulling off neurodiversity workplace inclusion.
